Claudia Chender was elected Leader of the Nova Scotia NDP in 2022. She was first elected MLA for Dartmouth South in 2017 and re-elected in 2021.

A lawyer, and former legal educator, with experience in non profit and small business, Claudia has a wide range of experience serving the Dartmouth South community and is a strong advocate for families and businesses across Nova Scotia.
Claudia has been an active volunteer, supporter and advocate in Dartmouth South and beyond. She has worked to reform our justice system, improve access to child care and housing, and for a just transition for workers and families across Nova Scotia.
Claudia and her husband are raising their three children and dog Digby in Dartmouth South.
